My Milestones of FI
Net zero –debt free (less mortgage(s)) – done, this was my most exciting so far.- Fully funded emergency fund – done.
- First zero tax rate year – done.
- 2015 = 41% – this is what losing looks like.
- 2016 = 9% – this was one of my first steps to FI before I knew what FI was.
- 2017 = -1% – this is what winning looks like. I still brag about this win. Yes, I was paid to be a citizen.
- 2018 = 1% – time for a little more research but still a great tax rate.
- First maxed IRA year = 2016, and 2017 and 2018. – done.
- First maxed 401k year = 2018, see my blog post on April
26th 2018. This was one of my first steps out of inFIdelity after I became enlightened. - Fully funded emergency fund take 2 – the reset.
- Six-figure FI stash – Personal capital phone call baby! Done.
- FU money 2.5x annual expenses – and done.

Market Corrections and Recessions – Historic Frequency
- 5% – 3 times per year
- 10% – once every 11 months
- 15% – every 2 years
- 20% – every 4 years
- 30% – once per decade
- 40% – once per 2-3 decades
- 50% – 2-3 times per century
Identity-Based Core Habits of the Ultra-Successful
After studying millionaires and billionaires for years and tracking common beliefs, attitudes and habits I have compiled the following list.
Highly successful people…
- Focus on the opportunities not problems.
- Love challenges and
seek to solve problems. - Track Results or KPIs (Key Performance Indicator.)
- Think big, act small.
- Plan out their day in advance.
- Boldly take action without answers to every question.
- Cultivate a strong bias to taking action.
- Don’t get distracted by what other people are doing or saying.
- Aim higher than they can shoot.
- Don’t give up.
- Constantly try new things.
- Set aside the self-limiting beliefs holding them back.
- Go above and beyond in work and business.
- Do what others aren’t willing to do.
- Set goals, don’t make wishes and review them regularly.
- Don’t listen to the majority.
- Take risks that make others think you’re crazy.
- Make their health and exercise a priority.
- Seek out
mentors . - Look up to people who are different than them.
- Network, volunteer and donate regularly.
- Talk less and listen more.
- Use people’s names frequently and write them down.
- Avoid procrastination.
- Avoid toxic people.
- Know their main purpose.
- Put their ladder on the right wall.
- Track their habits, spending and time.
- Meditate daily.
- Journal daily.
- Reading every day for 30 minutes or more.
- Ask for the “sale.”
- Set short term sprint goals, as well as, 10x stretch goals.
- Each night name their top priorities for the next day and record their
progress . - Learn continuously.
- Actively practice gratitude and journal about it daily.
- Spend free time doing something productive.
